"The Days Inn, Laramie was a convenient location as we drove from Green River via the The Snowy Range Scenic Road. It's Highway 130 after turning off I80 near Walcott and was designated the Second National Forest Scenic Byway in the United States.
This route is a popular recreation attraction with many picnic, camping, observation and interpretive facilities. On the routeis The Ryan Park Campground which was the site of a WWII Prisoner of War camp . Medicine Bow Peak, at 12,013 feet is tthe highest point in Medicine Bow Forest and is adjacent to the Byway.
There are several hiking trails accessible from the Byway, including a trail up to Medicine Bow Peak. A trip along the Snowy Range Scenic Byway is a must when you visit southeastern Wyoming!
The hotel was easy to find, new, clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. There' a small internet cafe near reception.
